In-Depth Review | Employment911.com
Resume Writing Services
Reasonable pricing is most likely the draw for
Employment911.com. That, and one of the most
intriguing guarantees in the industry. They guarantee that
you'll be receiving interview offers within 60 days, but
then they go a step further: if after 120 days of using your
new resume package, you aren't satisfied that it's helping you
in your job search, they will refund 100% of your
money. It doesn't get much better than that.
So why no more than three stars? Two reasons in
particular. 1) No indication that the writers are certified.
Now, while certification is not the be all and end all, it does
provide a bit of assurance in a world of uncertainty.
Especially in the uncertain world of the Web. 2) No sample
resumes are provided by the company. That leaves prospective
clients -- and reviewers like us -- in the dark when it comes
to judging writing quality. Luckily for the company, the
strength of their guarantee makes up for some lack of
information. As does their relatively good rating with the
Better Business Bureau (A-).
Here's How It Works
On the company's webpage, click the "Order Your
Resume Now..." heading a little ways down the page. You'll
be given the following choices: Entry Level, Mid Level Career,
Executive, Federal or Government, Military-To- Civilian Conversion. Choose the category
that best fits your work history. You'll then be given the
option of buying the resume alone, or as a package with a
number of add-ons (i.e. cover letter, posting services,
etc.)
Order the service you want and pay. Use an online
wizard to send the relevant info. You'll be assigned a pro
writer. You can communicate with your writer via a special
"resume desktop." Customer service is also available via the
desktop (or over the phone).
Turn-around time is usually 2-3 days, but a rush service is
available. You'll receive your finished resume via email;
review and approve it. Contact your writer is you need to make
any changes or corrections. At the end of 60 days if you
haven't received an interview invitation, you can request a
re-write of the resume.
Here's What We Liked
- Pricing was upfront and reasonable.
- 4-6 hour rush service is available.
- Job interviews are guaranteed within 60 days of
using your new resume.
- Your money back if, after 120 days you're not satisfied
that your resume package is helping with your job
search.
- The Better Business Bureau gives the company an
A- rating. That's pretty good, and should provide
prospective clients a bit of comfort.
Here's What We Didn't
Like
- The money-back guarantee is only good if you
purchase a complete resume writing and distribution package
(resume, cover letter, post-interview follow-up letters,
web and text formatting, resume posting service, resume
distribution service). It's a decent value, but we
initially thought the money-back guarantee was good with
just a resume purchase alone. Evidently not.
- A detailed, one-on-one telephone interview is not in
the cards. Instead, the writer gathers the necessary
information via the online form you fill out, and your
uploaded resume. (Tip: we have a bias toward telephone
interviews).
- No indication that the writers are certified.
- There are zero resume samples posted on the company
website. Without such information, we can't make a
judgement as to the quality of writing. That's a big
unknown.
Employment911.com Review - The
Wrap Up
Reasonable pricing and an excellent guarantee prop this
company up, although you've got to buy the resume writing
and distribution package to get the money-back
guarantee. The big unknown - writing quality, since no sample
resumes are posted. Still, the company has been in business
since 1997 and maintains a good rating with the Better Business
Bureau (no small feat).
That said, if your budget demands that you've got to stay
within this company's price range, we suggest you at least
consider the $129.95 resume over at
CareersPlusResumes.com. Writing quality is evident from
resume samples posted on the company's website, and all the
writers are certified. Better still, if you can afford
a $199.95 resume, think about
ResumeWriters.com or ResumeEdge.com.
These are two companies with top-notch certified writers and
very attentive customer service. See the pull-down menu
above for in-depth reviews of each of these three
companies.
Still, Employment 911 does have something to offer. And
speaking of offers, limited-time savings and special offers are
sometimes available. If you're ready...
