In-Depth Review | Amazing Resume Creator.com
Views and Opinions
by David Alan Carter
An barely acceptable product that suffers from a new and exasperating web site feature.
The way it used to be: The company's founder, done up as an animated character, begins
talking to you immediately once the site loads. If you're in an office and don't want your cube neighbors to know
you're job searching, have your computer volume turned low or be ready to click the animated head to stop the
diatribe.
The way it is now: That was bad enough, but at least you could mute your computer and scroll
about on the page to find out what you needed to know. But they've recently made a change such that a NEW video
commands the entire screen for approximately 35 minutes. Some artist is frantically sketching little cartoon
resumes and hiring officials and job seekers and trying to build a case for buying their product. While some of the
information is good, I don't like being held captive for 35 minutes before I can see details of the product or
service.
The brainchild of one Jimmy Sweeney, a professional copy writer, direct response
marketer, and owner of the parent company CareerJimmy, Amazing Resume Creator promotes itself as applying
"proven trade secrets" to create powerful resumes.
Here's How It Works:
Purchase the software and download the program onto your computer. Open the application and follow the
onscreen instructions to 1) select the type of resume you want to create, and 2) "tailor" the resume from the
template on your computer screen. The program automatically interfaces with MS Word, making changes and tweaks easy
for those already familiar with Word.
Here's What We Liked
- It's supposedly risk free. Try the product for 60 days. If not completely
satisfied, they say you can drop Mr. Sweeney an email stating that you'd like your money back.
- Build as many resumes--or variations of a resume--as you like. You've bought the software,
nothing else to purchase.
- Free downloadable ebook gifts with purchase.
- Lifetime free product updates.
- The BBB (Better Business Bureau) gives the parent company an A- rating. Read the full
BBB report.
Here's What We Didn't Like
- That insufferable video with no [pause] button.
- If you want to create a cover letter, that's an addition product--and charge!
- We've noted a relatively high rate of product cancellations. While that's not an indictment, it's
suggestive of a problem.
Amazing Resume Creator Review - The Wrap Up
In summary, I'm not impressed. At least not impressed enough to put up with 35 minutes of a bull___ video.
Amazing Resume Creator might be an acceptable resume builder. But getting to that finished product will
have you beating your head against the wall. Note: As with all of our reviews, this is our opinion--we always
advise readers to do their own due diligence.
