We've also put together some employment resources (see box
below). But first, should you consider an online
resume services? Well, consider this. A good resume
writer, like any other professional today, is connected.
Specifically, connected to the Web. In fact, you may
be surprised at how many are conducting their business
over the Internet. With that being the case, there's no
need to tether yourself only to writers with a
physical presence in Detroit.
Detroit Resume Service - Or An
Online Alternative?
Given the explosion in the growth of resume services,
there's ever increasing odds that your ideal resume
writer, a certified writer with a work
history in your very industry, might just
be living in Chicago or Cincinnati or New
York -- and not Detroit. Not to worry. You can access
that writer with a few clicks of a mouse. And the entire
transaction can be handled by phone, email and fax.
Detroit, You're Going To Love
What We've Done
We've taken 10 of the most popular Resume Writing
Services on the Web and put them through their
paces. These are companies that collectively employ hundreds
of professional writers covering a broad spectrum of
industries and occupations. We wrote in-depth reviews for
each resume service, and gave them star ratings based on the
following:
- Writer Certification
- Price and Value
|
- Quality of Workmanship
- Personal Attention
|
- Satisfaction Guarantee
- Timeliness
|
Pricing for these 10 Resume Services range from $89
to $249 for a mid-level professional. Prices at the higher
range reflect an actual interview with you over the phone to
discuss your work history, and 2-3 hours of work by your
writer to craft a resume that will get results.
I'll be honest; although each was popular, not every service
rated the same. In fact, the ratings range from 5 stars to a
single star. You'll find that our 5-star "Top Picks" offer
the most value and service.
[Note: If you're pressed for time, you might like to know
that ResumeWriters.com
received our highest rating. With certified writers
specializing in 5 dozen career fields, this company has been
delivering a 99.98% customer satisfaction rating since 1998.
Plus, they've got one of the strongest guarantees in the
industry... if you haven't gotten interviews within 60
days, they'll re-write your resume at no
charge. You can even choose to work with a new
writer for a totally fresh take on your resume. That cinched
the deal with us.]
All of this, and no Road Rage on
the Fisher Freeway!
Visit our home page, Review of Resume Writers, and judge
for yourself. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. If
not, well, you can always fire up the car and strike out
on I-96 in search of a local firm. Either way, I wish
you the best of luck in your job search.

↓ Detroit and the
surrounding region constitute a major
manufacturing center, most notably as home
to the Big Three automobile companies,
General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler. The city
is an important center for global trade with
large international law firms having their
offices in both Detroit and Windsor. About
80,500 people work in downtown Detroit,
comprising 21% of the City's employment.
There are about four thousand factories in
the area. The domestic auto industry is
primarily headquartered in Metro Detroit. New
vehicle production, sales, and jobs related to
automobile use account for one of every ten
jobs in the United States. The area is also an
important source of engineering job
opportunities. A 2004 Border Transportation
Partnership study showed that 150,000 jobs in
the Windsor-Detroit region and $13 billion in
annual production depend on the City of
Detroit's international border crossing...
Firms in the suburbs pursue emerging
technologies including biotechnology,
nanotechnology, information technology,
cognotechnology, and hydrogen fuel cell
development. The city of Detroit has made
efforts to lure the region's growth companies
downtown with advantages such as a wireless
Internet zone, business tax incentives,
entertainment, an international riverfront, and
residential high rises. Thus far, the city has
had some success, most notably the addition of
Compuware World Headquarters, OnStar, EDS
offices at the Renaissance Center,
PricewaterhouseCoopers Plaza offices adjacent
to Ford Field, and the 2006 completion of Ernst
& Young's offices at One Kennedy
Square...
Some Fortune 500 companies headquartered in
Detroit include General Motors, auto parts
maker American Axle & Manufacturing, and
DTE Energy. Other major industries include
advertising, law, finance, chemicals, and
computer software.
