A relative newcomer to the competitive field of online resume writing, Resume Yard has already distinguished itself as a good faith provider of eye-catching resumes, cover letters and Linkedin profiles.

Utilizing a "team network" which currently stands as 15 professional writers, the company matches customers with a writer specializing in the client's particular industry. And those pros have personal experience in more than 30 industries, so the odds of connecting you with a writer knowledgeable in your career field and job market is good.  

Here's How It Works
1.

Select the resume writing service that best fits your experience; entry level, professional (2+ years in the workforce), or executive. Pay online. Fill out their questionnaire, and upload a copy of your existing resume (if you have one).
2. You'll be assigned a writer who best fits your profession/discipline and country. Your writer will contact you via email, and will gather any additional information as needed.
3. Within 2-3 days, you'll receive a first draft in PDF via e-mail. Work with your writer on revisions until you have a final draft you're happy with. The final version will be provided in Microsoft Word.

Here's What We Like

The current team of 15 writers hail from multiple countries including the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, and others. And collectively they profess to have experience in over 30 industries. The pitch is, and we tentatively buy it, that the company can reasonably match you to a writer with a background in your country and industry.

Sample resumes are of acceptable quality. While there is an overarching emphasis on design elements for visual impact, enough substance remains to indicate a decent level of professionalism in the writing.

Here's What We Don't Like

No indication the writers are certified, as in Certified Professional Resume Writers. Assume they are not. They may be professionals, and yes they may do reasonably good work. But we have a bias towards CPRWs. Consider this a tradeoff for the company's relatively low pricing.
In-depth telephone interviews are not in the cards. Readers of this website will know that we have a bias towards telephone interviews as the best way for a writer to really understand a client and write with authority. Again, this is a tradeoff for low prices.
While advertised in several locations on the website that interviews are guaranteed, the actual ordering process implies that such a guarantee is only valid with a package purchase. Either the company needs to clarify, or readers should assume that interviews are not guaranteed if you purchase just the resume.

ResumeYard.com Review - The Wrap Up

ResumeYard.com claims a customer satisfaction rate close to 98%. At this point - with no complaints surfacing on the Web - we have no reason to doubt them. Keep in mind that their track record is limited; the website was created in 2016, though two of the principals have been writing resumes since 2010.

The small team of writers seems professional enough and management appears focused on quality, speed and client relations. Pricing is reasonable, given the quality of the end product. Here's something else: The phones get answered and an email query gets a reply in 3 hours or less. That speaks well.

As with all of our reviews, this is our opinion--we always advise readers to do their own due diligence. Note: You will not get a high-end, $500 quality resume here. But for those on a tight budget, we can recommend putting this company on your short list.

The Better Business Bureau does not have a file opened on the company. There are usually two reasons for this: 1) the company hasn't been in business that long, and/or 2) there haven't been any customers complaints.

While we like to have a BBB file to rifle through, we understand when one is not available. And the positive spin is... no customer complaints.
